 This is a very common site in southern India, especially in Bangalore. On any given festival or auspicious occasion people there decorate and worship their vehicles exactly like in the photograph above, with flowers, banana tree branches and mango leaves. It was the bustling festival of Vijayadashami (also known as Dasara, Dashahara, Dussehra & Dashain in Nepal) during which the above photograph was taken. | |
I was walking through a market on a busy festive day, it was full of buyers and sellers. Everybody seemed to be in a hurry to finish their shopping for the festival. Amidst all this a busy flower seller took a couple of seconds to give me a glance and this is the result of my waiting.
While I was photographing this market, I saw this old lady at the other end of the street, she saw me too and smiled. Taking some photographs all the way through the market, when I finally reached her she gave me that beautiful smile. She is one of the most beautiful woman I have ever had a chance to click.
